Anything Goes….

It’s so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of politics and beliefs these days. The “anything goes” mentality will eventually backfire on those who oppose God’s ways. His ways are simple, and yet we forget, or get caught up in the “I have to make them more appealing” mode, and slowly drift away to our own demise. Here in Psalm 45 we read of the Psalmist writing a poem about the king. We read the king’s agenda is to defend truth, humility, and justice. That’s it. It’s exactly what God wants from us. It’s pretty simple when you really think about it. It only becomes an issue when we leave God out of the picture. We begin to make up our own truth. Without God, Truth, humility, and justice become distorted, leaving Satan free to twist and deceive us into fighting for causes that defy God rather than side with Him. Think of all the causes that defy God that people are fighting for. A woman’s right to choose by shedding innocent blood. The right for a man to lie with another man (as with a woman). The rights of women fighting against people who actually care about them rather than use them as sexual objects. What people call “fighting for justice” really is fighting against God. Without God on your side, what you think “justice” is, is really deceptive practices that distort and pervert “true justice”. Life is simple when God is Lord of your life. When He isn’t, the clear cut vision of what He wants from us gets distorted to the point of fighting against Him; a battle that defeats all of its participants.
