The greatest tragedy in life is when people refuse God’s free offer of grace. There’s nothing worse than slapping away the hand that feeds you. It doesn’t make sense. It goes against every fiber in our being. Rejecting God leads to our own demise. It couldn’t be more clear than here in Luke chapter 19. Jesus weeps over Jerusalem. His grace was rejected by the very ones whom He chose as His special possession. When the opportunity comes for salvation, take it, embrace it, or your future will be filled with misery. Why do you think Jesus wept? Love always gives us a choice, and a chance at redemption. Don’t let it pass you by.
41 But as He came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, He began to weep. 42 “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.43 Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side.44 They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not accept your opportunity for salvation.”
Luke 19:41-44
