Being a Christian, a follower of Jesus, isn’t a one time, “I made a decision so now I’m good for the rest of my life”, kind of occurrence. It’s a day by day, lifelong commitment. It’s working out your salvation. It’s showing the world what transformation has taken place on the inside of you. Being committed, standing firm in your faith, is what God wants from us. It’s how our souls are redeemed, a one-time transaction that affects our everyday living for the rest of our lives. Your consistent commitment to God, shows Him He chose the right person for the task. It also shows us we are responsible and accountable in how we show gratitude to our Redeemer.
19 By standing firm, you will win your souls.
Luke 21:19
