Just imagine all of us are either planters or harvesters. We either plant the seed of truth of God’s word in the hearts of others, or we get to experience the power of that seed when it sprouts bounty in the lives of others. Without the harvest, they are no seeds to plant. Harvesting and planting go hand in hand. This shows us that life isn’t about personal gain. It’s about God’s glory. When we seek His glory first, we reap a harvest of satisfaction; peace, joy, and the contentment of knowing we are fulfilling what we were created to do. There is no greater joy than knowing we are pleasing God. It’s as simple as that. Are you planting seeds or are you harvesting the bounty? The cycle repeats. And the bounty will be a satisfied and fulfilled life, and an eternity of knowing you gave your best. There’s no bigger priority in life than this. A nourished soul has no rival.
34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent Me, and from finishing His work. 35 You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest.36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!37 You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true.38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”
