Have you ever entertained the thought of God wanting us to come to Him when we sin? Neither had I until I realized it the only rightful response we have. Sure, the popular response is to run from God; hide out like Adam did in the garden after he ate from the banned tree. It’s what our sinful nature tells us to do. But it’s not what God wants. It’s why He hates sin. Sin drives us away from God, distancing us from Him, and weakening our bond with Him. David understood this. He may not have always acted accordingly, but he knew the proper response to sin. We are to always go to God with our problems. We are to go to Him in our joys as well. It’s that daily communication, that daily union with our Creator that deepens our faith and resolve. Are you getting this? We are to run to God, at all times, not from Him. The more we do this the less we see how wrong it is to run away. The more we grow intimate with Him. Stop running. Stop listening to your feelings. Stop trusting the wrong information Satan is putting in your head. You’ve got to go with what you know to be true. That truth is Jesus is our refuge. He is our redeemer. He is the answer to our problem. The more we continue to run away from Him, the more complex, the more painful, and the more time it will take until we realize He should be the destination of our fleeing. Get over your pride, throw out common sense, and stop listening to your feelings. Run to Him today. Trust me on this one.
What mighty praise, O God,belongs to You in Zion.We will fulfill our vows to You,2 for You answer our prayers. All of us must come to You.3 Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,You forgive them all.4 What joy for those You choose to bring near, those who live in Your holy courts. What festivities await usinside Your holy Temple. 5 You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.6 You formed the mountains by Your powerand armed Yourself with mighty strength.7 You quieted the raging oceanswith their pounding wavesand silenced the shouting of the nations.8 Those who live at the ends of the earthstand in awe of Your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets,You inspire shouts of joy.
