Do you trust God? I mean really trust Him with your life? David did. As the coup Absalom was attempting to make had driven David out of Jerusalem, David’s faith in God never wavered. His confidence in himself may have diminished, but not his trust in God. One reason why David’s faith was so secure is the fact that he knew God is always devising ways to bring us back when we have been separated. This love and concern God has for us can never be extinguished. He will never leave us or forsake us. David knew this; it’s why he trusted God with his life. Do you have this kind of trust in Him? Do you want it? What do you think you have to do to develop it into the kind of faith David had?
14 All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.
2 Samuel 14:14
25 Then the king instructed Zadok to take the Ark of God back into the city. “If the Lord sees fit,” David said, “He will bring me back to see the Ark and the Tabernacle again. 26 But if He is through with me, then let Him do what seems best to Him.”
2 Samuel 15:25-26
