Knowing that I am secure in Christ Jesus has no greater effect on my significance, my self-worth, and my security than any and all things/self-efforts combined. Knowing there is no one more powerful than God, is very comforting. If God promises to take care of us, and never allow someone to snatch us out of His hand, then we need to bank our faith on His promise. Knowing we are valued, loved, and eternally secure in Him is the greatest feeling in the world. Knowing this is what makes believers different from everyone else in this life. It’s what empowers us with patience, tolerance, and resolve to carry on and endure the happenings in life. It’s what helps us through the rough times, enjoy the goods times even more, and keeps our emotions on an even keel when boredom and monotony set in. It’s the secret of the Christian life that can’t fully be explained. It’s what balances out our pride with humility, and our selfishness with love. Are you secure in your relationship with God? Do you know you are secure? Ask Him today to give you evidence of this great promise of His. You’ll never forget it when He does. Now that’s true security that the world can’t give.
22 It was now winter, and Jesus was in Jerusalem at the time of Hanukkah, the Festival of Dedication. 23 He was in the Temple, walking through the section known as Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 The people surrounded Him and asked, “How long are You going to keep us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”25 Jesus replied, “I have already told you, and you don’t believe Me. The proof is the work I do in My Father’s name. 26 But you don’t believe Me because you are not My sheep.27 My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from Me,29 for My Father has given them to Me, and He is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.30 The Father and I are one.”
