Being in tune with God means you’re willing to except whatever He has in store for you. Being in His will is the best place you can be. Always knowing this helps us live a life free from the fear of the unknown. Paul knew this. He knew what was in his future. He knew suffering and imprisonment lay ahead of him. He knew if he listened to the people (who sincerely loved him), he would be living a life of pretending, like Jonah. His dedication to Jesus outweighed any fear or suffering he would ever experience. If Jesus died for him, he was willing to return the favor out of gratitude for the gift he received (eternal life). Knowing God is in it, and He has your back, eliminates unhealthy fear and anxiety. Something the world needs in high doses these days, including me.
13 But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.” 14 When it was clear that we couldn’t persuade him, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”
Acts 21:13-14
