One main difference you see in the life of a true believer in Christ Jesus is he holds on very loosely to the “things of this world”. He does not set his affections on the “things of this world”. He sees with spiritual eyes, and knows where his ultimate home resides (in a Heaven). He knows where his true treasure lies. Knowing this, he freely gives of his time, his resources, and his knowledge of the Almighty to all who ask or are in need of a dose of truth. Does this sound like you? True satisfaction and true gain (as Paul put it in 1 Timothy ch 6) comes from not allowing our affections to focus on the transient or the unattainable, that which riches, power, and fame promote, but rather focusing on that which does not rot, rust, or decay. The only two things that are going to last forever, are people and God’s word. Don’t you think we need to focus on that?
26 Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!
