We hear it all the time in Churches, “make disciples, share Jesus with people, present the Gospel, give your testimony...”, but what exactly does that look like? It’s rather simple. When you read your Bible, and you know the Author of the Book because He has granted you salvation that has transformed you from the inside out, then simply presenting the Gospel from a personal point of view is all it takes. When we present the Gospel for what it is, then share how we have embraced it, God will lift the veil from the receiver’s eyes. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. Have you ever lied? Cheated someone? Stolen something? Used God’s name in vain? Lusted? If the answer is “yes” to any one of these, then you are a sinner (you broke God’s law). If you are a sinner, then you are guilty and deserve judgement. God will not let sin go unpunished. Your righteousness can’t save you. You need a Savior. Jesus is that Savior. It’s His righteousness that is imputed on you when you repent of your sin and accept His grace and forgiveness. Once you do that, God forgives you and sees you as He sees Jesus (worthy, righteous, and perfect). Your debt is cancelled and you’re given eternal life; you’re granted membership into Heaven. If sin is not addressed in your presentation of the Gospel, how can conviction take place? It’s only when we include righteousness, self-Control (or lack of), and judgement in our presentation of our witness, that makes the Gospel “Good News”. It made Felix tremble and become frightened. Why do you think that is?
24 A few days later Felix came back with his wife, Drusilla, who was Jewish. Sending for Paul, they listened as he told them about faith in Christ Jesus. 25 As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened. “Go away for now,” he replied. “When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.”
