Death, we all have an appointment with it. There’s no escaping it. Yet so many people fear it with an anxiety that has no remedy. The debilitating effect it has on some drive them to live their lives solely based on it. Some try to escape with substance abuse, while others ignore it all together. When it finally comes, it’s like a shock to the system. For those that have placed their trust in Jesus, the fear of death loses its sting. Sure, there’s still some uncertainty, but one things for sure: those who believe and live out their faith in Him will be with Him as soon as Death invades the body. Just one more thing about the Christian faith that rarely gets talked about. Jesus comforts us and answers the biggest question we can have, what happens to me when I die? Knowing this answer, brings a peace and sense of security that those without Him can’t ever experience.
7 Indeed, how can people avoid what they don’t know is going to happen? 8 None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked.
Ecclesiastes 8:7-8
