If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s this: human beings will always disappoint us. Our Faith is meant to be placed in God alone. Human beings are weak, fragile, and insecure. When we put our faith in them, we won’t get out of what we put into. Only God is worthy of our faith and trust. When we place our faith in its proper place (in God alone), He allows our trust in humans to be limited, and thus protects us from major disappointment, and yet He allows us to love without fear. It’s a strange phenomenon, I can’t fully explain, but I can absolutely tell you, it’s true and worthy of our full attention.
22 Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?
Isaiah 2:22
