Never hold people in higher esteem than God. And never allow one person or a group of people to be an example for God. People with always disappoint. Regardless if they are successful and evil, or poor and righteous, fearing God is the beginning of wisdom. This truth needs to trump your feelings when you start to feel others are benefiting in this world. Let God be your standard, not people. He will reward you when you are consistent in honoring Him.
17 Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord.18 You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.
Proverbs 23:17-18
