Self-sufficiency is like dressing up for Halloween. It’s pretending to be someone you’re not. It’s like acting; even though you may get paid to do it, in the end, it’s just pretending. If you think you’re self-sufficiency is because of something you’ve done or earned, you are acting. And you’re only fooling yourself. Self-sufficiency drives us towards independence. Independence only feeds pride. And we all know where Pride got Lucifer.
10 Who among you fears the Lord and obeys His servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God.11 But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from Me: You will soon fall down in great torment.
