Here’s a simple test to see where you are in your walk with God. How do you feel, or what happens to you when you’re in a conversation and you know Jesus is the answer, but you don’t say anything? Are you convicted? Is there burning in your heart? When truth is muffled do you have a problem with it? When you see evil prevailing does it bother you? If so, then the sanctification process is well under way. You are not there yet, but you are for sure growing in the Lord. Truth does this to authentic God-seekers. It may not always be pleasant, but the rewards that will later come won’t compare to the discomfort you may experience now. Jeremiah is a perfect example of this.
9 But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in His name, His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!
Jeremiah 20:9
