Unbelief, or lack of faith, regardless of how it comes to be, results in turmoil. Anxiety, depression, worry, and any other form of not having peace, stems directly from our refusal to trust/believe God. It’s like slapping God’s hand away when it’s full of nourishing food. When you’re thirsty, you never turn away a cup of refreshing water, do you? Unbelief is the result of spiritual blindness, or deadness. We will never have peace or rest without God. It’s just not possible. That struggle will continue throughout our lifetimes, unless we exercise the choice God’s given us to reciprocate His love. Know Jesus, know peace. No Jesus, no peace.
19 So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter His rest.
Hebrews 3:19
