In America today we live in what has been called a “post Christian” society. What that means is we don’t seek out God any more (collectively speaking). We don’t try to find God, much less give Him credit for anything. I find myself wandering at times. Like I know I should go to Him in prayer, but something inside me allows me to “get distracted”, and thus the need goes unmet. I can only speak for myself but when this happens it’s easy to get down and depressed. Hope takes a holiday and I’m left with a lot more work I don’t want to do. When I get like this the only thing I can do is cry out to God. Search Him out. Then I can address my own issues and file them in the “adjusted” folder. It’s all about getting over my pride; my desire to “do it by myself”. It starts with setting aside my feelings and focusing on what I KNOW to be true. God’s truth matters. The road to restoration begins with talking with God, and that means turning around and running back to Him. Just like the prodigal father did, God does too. He’s right there waiting for us to see the bigger picture.
and no one cries to Me for help.
Hosea 7:7c
10 Their arrogance testifies against them, yet they don’t return to the Lord their God or even try to find Him.
Hosea 7:10
