There are two ways in which we can live: God’s way or our own way. When we choose which way to live we see the opposing lifestyle as contradictory to the one we’ve chosen. We fail to see the benefits or consequences of the opposing lifestyle. Under God’s design, having integrity and being honest actually protect us. Yes, they may be difficult to consistently carry out, and they may isolate us from others, but in the bigger picture they are for our good. Integrity and honesty are two character traits that God possesses. When we make them part of our life, we become a little more like Him. I’m not saying we are to become God (that’s not possible), but more like Him. For when we put our hope in God, integrity and honesty will protect us, from the false accusations of others, and especially from ourselves.
20 Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in You I take refuge.21 May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in You.
Psalms 25:20-21
