Speaking Truth Without Understanding….

Truth can be spoken without understanding. Have you ever experienced this? I’ve seen it on many occasions. People talk like they know what’s going on, when in reality, they don’t, but what they say is true. Here in Matthew chapter 27, we get a glimpse into two lives that say one thing yet believe another. Pilate declares Jesus’ innocence in this matter. Pilate is guilty of unjustifiably abusing and putting to death an innocent man. He symbolically washes his hands declaring his innocence. He is guilty even though he thinks he’s not. He thinks he is speaking truth, when in reality, is not true. Then we have the Jews unknowingly taking full responsibility in Jesus’ crucifixion. Not only do they say they take responsibility for Jesus’ death, but also include their children’s part in it, as well. They are speaking truth, but have no clue of what they are talking about. It is possible to speak truth without embracing it. The only difference is that speaking truth and embracing the One Who is Truth, grants us eternal salvation. Speaking truth without embracing Jesus only grants the words you speak will fulfill their obligation to others without granting you salvation. Unless you embrace truth, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you’re words are full of life, but inside yourself there’s any emptiness that will never be filled. Is it possible to speak truth without understanding? Yes, but unless you embrace the truth through repentance, your words will benefit others, without rescuing yourself. And you’ll be left with regret and remorse that haunts you all the days of your life now, and eternally. Know the Truth, and embrace it, and it will set you free. Speak the truth without embracing it, and you’ll be deceived, spiritually starved, and eternally condemned. The choice is ours. Stop fooling ourselves, wake up. Wake up and smell the deception in our view of truth. There’s a responsibility when it comes to truth. If we speak it, even without understanding it, we are still responsible for what we say. Understand this. Repent, and then embrace the Author of truth. Then you will know the truth, and it will set you free.

24 Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!”25 And all the people yelled back, “We will take responsibility for His death–we and our children!”26 So Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned Him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified. Matthew 27:24-26
