I’ve always believed in truth. I mean it’s what I’m all about. I always want justice. Not in a entitlement kind of way. If someone speaks a lie, it’s hard for me to let it go. If someone wrongs me, and continues to try to abuse this power, I stand my ground. Jesus said it Himself, “you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free”. When you speak truth, you never have to worry about what you said. It’s like an insurance policy with no payments. It protects you all the time. That gives you confidence to stand your ground. It’s like being in a close game of baseball. It’s the bottom of the ninth; you’re down one run. And your slugger, named Babe Truth steps up to the plate. You know he’s going to hit a homerun and win the game. That’s what Truth does, it’s a stronghold to those who embrace it, who live their lives entrusting it. It’s like a foundation of a house. A strong foundation, helps the house withstand the big storms of life. Living God’s way is the most secure and fulfilling way to live. It brings peace, security, purpose and structure. And yet so many people see it as dull, boring, no fun, and restrictive. If they only knew the Truth....
27 Fear of the Lord lengthens one’s life, but the years of the wicked are cut short. 28 The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. 29 The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked.
Proverbs 10:27-29
