God is in control. He has the ability to control Nature. He can stop a storm, make animals talk, and even stop/reverse time (making the Sun go backwards). God is just; never allowing sin to go unpunished. He rewards those that honor Him and allows the consequences of our poor decisions to play out in our lives. When God wants something done, it gets done. He also has a way to bring back to Him those that stray away. God is in control, what He wants to accomplish, He sets it into motion. However, He always allows a choice in the equation. It’s what LOVE does. He will never force you to love Him back, but He will do things that point you in His direction. For instance, one of the things He does to all people when they allow themselves to become enamored with things or processes over rightfully giving Him the honor He deserves is not letting satisfaction come to us from these things. If it’s food (the example here), or money, fame, possessions, power, beauty, or anything else, we may experience them, but He doesn’t allow us to be satisfied doing or pursuing them. If we are doing/pursuing something, and it’s not satisfying, maybe we need to examine where our heart is in it. The power of God is not fathomable. He is in control. And He is the only One capable of doing the job right. We need to step off His throne, get out of the way, and let Him do His job.
23 “And if you fail to learn the lesson and continue your hostility toward Me, 24 then I Myself will be hostile toward you. I will personally strike you with calamity seven times over for your sins. 25 I will send armies against you to carry out the curse of the covenant you have broken. When you run to your towns for safety, I will send a plague to destroy you there, and you will be handed over to your enemies. 26 I will destroy your food supply, so that ten women will need only one oven to bake bread for their families. They will ration your food by weight, and though you have food to eat, you will not be satisfied.
