Here’s a thought: Christianity is different from all other religions. One of the biggest differences is that the God of this world (the God of the Bible) gives all believers part of Himself, the Holy Spirit. No other religion can say this. There are so many other major differences, but this one shows us that God values relationships. He’s a personable Being. He wants us in a relationship with Him. He wants us to know Him. He wants to share this life with us now, and the one to come. This helps us navigate through life, getting instruction from the Author of life. Maybe one reason why some people choose other religions is because they are not relational; they don’t involve getting to know their god. That way, they can do as they please and adapt the rules to their own lifestyle. It’s not personal, so they have room to ad lib. And if they get out of line, there’s no one to hold them accountable. If this is true, that would also mean that there’s no one (God) to share their successes with either, or get instruction from on how to handle a difficult situation. Christianity is a personable, relatable, and real journey. And best of all, it includes having an intimate relationship with the Creator of the Universe. Now that’s different, isn’t it?
37 On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to Me! 38 Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ ” 39 (When He said “living water,” He was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in Him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into His glory.)
John 7:37-39
