If you’ve ever wondered why we pray in Jesus’ name, here’s the answer. We pray to God through Jesus because He atoned for our sins. He went back to Heaven to act as our advocate. He actually sent the Holy Spirit to be our Advocate while we are still in this earth. When we pray in His name God listens, because it shows our faith in Him. He’s our gobo (go between). He’s our mediator. Our High Priest. Do you actually have to use the word Jesus when we pray for God to listen? I don’t know for sure, but it’s because of Him that God does listen. Why not acknowledge that in your prayers. It only seems fitting to honor what He did for us.
23 At that time you won’t need to ask Me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and He will grant your request because you use My name.24 You haven’t done this before. Ask, using My name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.
John 16:23-24
