Power comes with obedience. I’m not talking about brute strength or monetary power. I’m talking about living right. Sleeping well, having peace, wisdom, and being an influence in your community. The kind of power I’m talking about can’t be earned, so it doesn’t corrupt. It’s a kind of power the world knows little about. It’s the opposite of what you hear about others. This kind of power only comes from God, and it only comes to those who serve Him wholeheartedly. Obedience is always better than sacrifice.
6 King Jotham became powerful because he was careful to live in obedience to the Lord his God.
