Forgiveness thwarts Satan’s evil schemes. Every time we forgive, it robs Satan’s ammunition station. It takes away some of the ammunition Satan has to distract, deceive, and dishonor. Forgiveness is giving up our right to get even. It also transfers the power back over to God. Eventually we are able to see this and our faith continues to grow because of it. Forgiveness is one of our greatest abilities because it not only lessens Satan’s influence, but it pleases God. If there’s someone you need to forgive, ask God to fill your heart with compassion for that person. Then go out and put it into action. Watch how a forgiving heart restores an unsatisfied life.
9 I wrote to you as I did to test you and see if you would fully comply with my instructions. 10 When you forgive this man, I forgive him, too. And when I forgive whatever needs to be forgiven, I do so with Christ’s authority for your benefit, 11 so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.
2 Corinthians 2:9-11
