Our job as Christians is to point others toward God. It is to show all people that we need God. Our relationship with God is the most important relationship we can have. It’s the only one that really matters, for it fulfills our purpose. With this in mind, our behavior and our words must be in sync in order to be an effective witness. When we surrender or submit to the Holy Spirit, we achieve this way of life. It’s only when we live for ourselves that we run into constant difficulties and struggle to figure out what’s going on. Our divine purpose is to bring glory to God, and we do this by taking on the task of reconciling people to Him. In order for our talk to matter, our walk must match our talk. Integrity matters in life. Does your walk and talk match up? Is your goal each day to point others to God?
18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21
