We must always be careful to stay connected to God. If we don’t our old nature will arise and find ourselves living with the consequences of being disconnected with Him. Rebellion is our natural state. And rebellion can be very subtle, sometimes not even realizing how far we’ve wandered away. Unless we surrender to God’s Spirit, we will always scorn the word of the Lord. Like it or not, it’s just the way it is. True salvation is a process. We are instantly saved, but it’s the sanctification process that proves it’s authenticity. It’s a journey that we will never arrive until Heaven. Our goal is to move closer to Jesus. And that does take work, dying to self every day.
10 To whom can I give warning?Who will listen when I speak?Their ears are closed, and they cannot hear. They scorn the word of the Lord. They don’t want to listen at all.
Jeremiah 6:10
