The key to living the Christian life is knowing God. It’s pursuing our Maker. Think about it: if God wants us to have a relationship with Him, communicating with Him, walking with Him, and worshipping Him, don’t we have to know Him first. Once we meet Him, we realize we are sinners. We realize our lostness. We realize our need of a Savior. Then we repent and are welcomed into the Kingdom. The key to life is knowing God. It’s written throughout the OT and NT. Today’s scripture is just one example of this. It’s one of my favorites in the Bible. Why? Because it tells us exactly what we can do to bring delight to our Lord.
23 This is what the Lord says:“Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom,or the powerful boast in their power,or the rich boast in their riches.24 But those who wish to boastshould boast in this alone:that they truly know Me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things.I, the Lord, have spoken!
