Until He Gets Our Attention….

People say God is a tyrant. They usually get this idea from the OT. The problem is they only read a couple of verses to justify their assumption. If they were to read each chapter, they may find their declarations are false. God is ready to forgive. He states it many times in the OT. Today’s passage is one clear example of this. The problem lies not with God, for He doesn’t change. The problems lies with man, because he is fickle. Man’s denial of God’s offer of forgiveness lies at the root of society’s problem: PRIDE. If we weren’t disobedient in the first place, we wouldn’t need to be prideful. Make sense? God is forgiving, He’s ready to restore us when we repent. He’s ready to welcome us back into His loving arms. God is not a tyrant; He’s a loving Daddy longing to hold us tightly and never let us go. The problem remains with us, not Him. In our striving for independence, we blind ourselves to this truth. And it’s not until He gets our attention (with whatever means necessary), that we begin to see His true Heart.

and make an announcement to the people who have come there to worship from all over Judah. Give them My entire message; include every word. 3 Perhaps they will listen and turn from their evil ways. Then I will change My mind about the disaster I am ready to pour out on them because of their sins.4 “Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord says: If you will not listen to Me and obey My word I have given you, 5 and if you will not listen to My servants, the prophets–for I sent them again and again to warn you, but you would not listen to them–6 then I will destroy this Temple as I destroyed Shiloh, the place where the Tabernacle was located. And I will make Jerusalem an object of cursing in every nation on earth.’ ” Jeremiah 26:2c-6

If You Truly Love Someone….

If you truly love someone, you will correct them. You don’t let them continue to sin. Remember (as I’ve said before), Jesus dined with sin...
