When people say, “what good does praying do?”, answer them, “it gives me strength”. God has a way of helping us, even when things seem bleak. If we go to Him in prayer, and nothing seems to change, maybe it’s because we focus too much on ourselves, which blinds us to the mysterious, unseen hand of God working in our lives. God answers prayers, all the time. It’s just a matter of recognizing it. Strength comes in prayer when we focus on God with a sincere heart, being willing to accept His response regardless of the consequences. Strength is the first response God grants when we admit our weaknesses to Him in prayer.
1 I give You thanks, O Lord, with all my heart;I will sing Your praises before the gods.2 I bow before Your holy Temple as I worship.I praise Your name for Your unfailing love and faithfulness;for Your promises are backed by all the honor of Your name.3 As soon as I pray, You answer me;You encourage me by giving me strength.
