Humans celebrate strength. They celebrate winning. They hold achievement in the highest regards. With the internet and social media being the main way people communicate these days, “looking good” is the goal of many. God sees things differently. He takes no pleasure in human strength. Nor does He ever care about portraying Himself in a manner that others see Him as better than He really is. The Lord’s delight is found in our obedience to Him, our reverence for Him, and especially when we place our trust and hope in Him alone. The world’s ways differ dramatically from God’s ways. Until we realize this, we will continue to pursue the unattainable, eventually dying with our song still inside of us.
10 He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.11 No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His unfailing love.
