What people who don’t fear God fail to see, is that the fear of God is healthy. It keeps people aware of their sinful behavior. It helps people avoid evil. People practice and promote evil because they think they are not accountable to God. Everyone, regardless if you don’t believe He is real, is accountable to Him. Every person born on this earth, past, present, and future, will one day stand before Him and have to give an account of their life to Him. I would say that’s accountability, wouldn’t you? Praise be to Jesus for providing the atonement for sin to all who believe and trust in Him, so they can rest assure that they have been accepted, forgiven, and truly loved.
6 Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin. By fearing the Lord, people avoid evil.
