When we think of God blessing people, usually it's in the material form. We think God blessed this or that person with a great high paying job or winning the lottery, or somehow coming into a wealthy inheritance. Just goes to show how money minded we are. Here God tells Baruch that his blessing is his own life. How often do we think that our own lives are a blessing from God. Kinda puts things into proper perspective doesn't it?
5 Should you then seek great things for yourself ? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.’ ”
