When people mock God, and say “if God is real, let Him strike me dead”, they unknowingly mistake this perceived absence or non-existence with God’s patience. Our timeline is not God’s timeline. Our impatience doesn’t negate His patience. We must be clear on this, or we, as believers, will get caught up in this confusion, and act according to our limited view. God’s patience shows His love and concern for our well-being. What we don’t see is God granting salvation to some, because He doesn’t want anyone to perish. It’s just on His timeline, not ours.
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
2 Peter 3:8-9
15 And remember, the Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved.
2 Peter 3:15a
