Being a Christian is all about faith. Faith in Jesus is what saves us. But we must live out our faith by “doing”. Action is proof of our faith. It’s what makes it visible; tangible for others to see. Our action can’t earn “brownie points” with God. It can however benefit us greatly. Here in Proverbs chapter 3, we get a glimpse of the benefits of chasing loyalty and kindness, the byproducts of love. You will find favor with both God and people, earning a good reputation.
1 My child, never forget the things I have taught you.Store my commands in your heart.2 If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.3 Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!Tie them around your neck as a reminder.Write them deep within your heart.4 Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
