God values humility, but where do we get it? Humility isn’t something we can buy in a store. It’s not something that we can decide to be and do it. Humility isn’t even something that’s exciting. Anytime someone is humbled, it’s usually from a humiliating experience (hence the word humble). The only way a person becomes humble is through experience. And that experience only comes through spending time with God. The reason the Bible tells us Moses was very humble, more so than any one on earth, is because Moses spent more time with God than anyone else on earth. Do you see the connection? The more time we spend with God, the more humble we will become. I think it has to do with our submitting to His ultimate authority, and trusting Him with our life. It’s His ability to deliver on His Word that gives us peace and security in our surrender. Humility is knowing our place and trusting God to be in charge of our life. Sounds like something the world needs more of.
