I’ve always loved Jesus’ words, “you will know a tree by the fruit it bears”. This means time will reveal a person’s true intent. If they are godly, their words will edify. If they are evil, their words will be perverse. Only time will tell. It will separate the sheep from the goats. And expose the wolves in sheep’s clothing. We just have to ask God to give us the discernment to know the difference.
The mouth of the godly person gives wise advice,but the tongue that deceives will be cut off. 32 The lips of the godly speak helpful words,but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words.
