Generosity has more benefits than most people realize, and I’m not talking about money. When we realize that we don’t really own anything, what we have is only a temporary loan from the Owner, we tend to not be so selfish with our possessions. And even more important, we don’t hoard our time and talents solely on our own selfish pursuits. When we take the time to help another in times of need, or console a hurting soul, we are rewarded with the satisfaction of knowing we are being faithful stewards of all the gifts God has blessed us with. When we realize the world has everything it needs to function under God’s sovereign reign, then and only then, we can use our resources for the greatest gain. The reward we receive back is the rejuvenation of our spirit.
25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
