God doesn’t change. That’s one thing you can base your life on. What He says stands for all time. His character doesn’t change. It’s a model we all should strive to be like. When He tells us how to live, that doesn’t change either, regardless what society believes or not. God isn’t trendy, He won’t demand something from us, then say “forget about it”. Here’s an example of God telling the Israelites what He requires from us. Some 800 plus years later, He says the exact same thing. Do you think the people in Micah’s day, said about God, “This is ancient news, it doesn’t apply to us. We are so far advanced it isn’t relevant anymore”. The fact that God doesn’t change should be the determining factor to take Him seriously, and take Him at His Word.
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, and love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul. 13 And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13
8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you:to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
