By no means am I perfect, or think I’m better than anyone. Yes, I do fight those thoughts, but I know my place; where God sees me. This verse in Psalm 38, has deep meaning for me. I’ve lived it, many times. There have been numerous times in my life where people opposed me for doing the right thing or just doing “my thing”. I’ve been made fun of, not just as a kid, but as an adult, for just being me; for standing up for what’s right. I’ve been shunned out. I’ve been coerced to give into demands that were illegal (which I didn’t give into). And I’ve lost income because I took a stand to do the “right thing”. So when I read this section of scripture, it has deep meaning for me. It’s personal, because I lived it.
19 I have many aggressive enemies;they hate me without reason.20 They repay me evil for good and oppose me for pursuing good.
Psalms 38:19-20
