People without spiritual insight see themselves as good. They believe they are invincible, like a well guarded city wall. What they fail to realize, in keeping up with the “Jones”, is the darkness in the world starts with them. Our sinful nature cause us to do evil things. It’s our sinful nature that got us in this predicament to begin with. We can clean the outside of our cup (like Jesus told the Pharisees), but it’s the inside that needs attending to. Our appearance and the condition of our hearts must match up. If they don’t, then we need to get right with God. We can either spend our time working on the superficial stuff, or we can start making an impact on the world by doing what we all know we should do. As Wonder Woman stated at the end of the movie, “both darkness and light resides in each one of them (us), and it’s our own battle, that no superhero can conquer”. We need to ask God for this battle victory. Then and only then will our insides truly match up.
