Flattery may get you far with some people, but it will get you no where with God. Your smooth words may fool the masses for a while, but it won’t fool God for a second. And those that follow Him, won’t buy into your eloquent speech either. Flattery is for the fool. It’s deceptive speech solely dedicated for selfish gain. It’s a language designed to manipulate others, taking advantage of their innocence or naive trust they have given the speaker. In the end it will be held against you if you continue to practice it on those who honestly grant you their attention. God is no fool.
22 For if I tried flattery,my Creator would soon destroy me.
