How many times in your life have you been disappointed? Who hasn’t? Does an unloving father make this kind of a promise to his children? Neither does an unloving God! God loves us enough to warn us from doing wrong, and promises us the reward of hope fulfilled when following Him whole-heartedly. Just think, our highest expectation and deepest desire will be met and exceeded. To those who are faithful to Him, the hope that God gives keeps us going, and rewards us with a reward that never disappoints. Now that’s something worthy of our focus, persistence, and dedication.
17 Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. 18 You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.
Proverbs 23:17-18
