We live in a day and age where we are free to criticize our leaders and protectors. With that freedom, people have taken license to go above and beyond the boundaries of decency. The office of President has never been more scrutinized, bad-mouthed, and disrespected in all of our history. And law enforcement has never been more prejudiced that ever before. To think that people who risk their lives to protect and serve get stigmatized, ridiculed, hated, and verbally abused, is beyond my comprehension. Yes, there are people who abuse their powers, but they are fewer than you think and shouldn’t decide the fate of all the others. If only people could meet God, like Job did, things would be different. It would be instant humility, the only response there is; the great “PRIDE” killer. When we truly experience God, there’s no way to criticize Him. And that humility leads to respecting others as well. It sets the proper attitude for life.
Then Job replied to the Lord: 2 “I know that You can do anything, and no one can stop You. 3 You asked, ‘Who is this that questions My wisdom with such ignorance? ’It is I–and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me. 4 You said, ‘Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. ‘5 I had only heard about You before, but now I have seen You with my own eyes. 6 I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”
Job 42:1-6
