Integrity matters in relationships. People may say it doesn’t, but only until they’re lied to, then it becomes paramount. The reason people lie is because they do not trust God with the outcome. They want to protect themselves, or preserve their way of life. What they don’t realize is, this selfish act comes at a price, usually hurting the recipient of the lie. Stripping the relationship of trust, which is the basis of any human connection. Remember, integrity has no holidays. Truth matters, we must always speak it. We must trust God’s process, and do it with gentleness and respect (as Peter says). In the end, when we stand before God, the only thing that will matter is that we were obedient to Him. Truth matters, regardless of what people say. Speak it boldly, and with confidence, trusting the process, allowing it to accomplish God’s will. Those that honor God will receive it like a kiss of friendship.
26 An honest answer is like a kiss of friendship.
