Here’s one truth that is consistently written about throughout scripture: God hates pride, selfishness or being self-centered. If it’s mentioned more than once, then it must be really important to God. Here in Isaiah chapter 2 it’s mentioned more than once in the same chapter. There’s no way to sugar coat it. It’s something God only tolerates for so long. It won’t last; it can’t. God won’t allow it. There’s not enough time in all eternity for God’s Glory to be shared with our pride. They can’t and won’t coexist.
11 Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.
Isaiah 2:11
17 Human pride will be humbled, and human arrogance will be brought down. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.
Isaiah 2:17
