Love speaks the truth, even if it hurts (both) parties involved, but it does it with patience, gentleness, and respect. True love cares more for the recipient’s well being, than just saving face. It’s hard to do, I guess that’s why fewer and fewer people are doing it these days. The opposite of love is not hate, it’s selfishness. Never forget that, especially when it comes to rescuing the lost or rebellious souls.
4 I wrote that letter in great anguish, with a troubled heart and many tears. I didn’t want to grieve you, but I wanted to let you know how much love I have for you.
2 Corinthians 2:4
