Any time I see people celebrating evil, I mean when something bad happens to another person or people, I can’t help but think how God is disappointed with their behavior. For example, in the early 1990s a helicopter crashed in Mogadishu, Somalia. The demented citizens drug one of the bodies of an American soldier through the streets, cheering and celebrating as they went. In Fallujah, in 2004, more of the same happened to 4 American contractors, as the citizens celebrated by mutilating their bodies with shovels, eventually hanging two of the burned bodies off a bridge over the Euphrates River. This kind of celebration of evil is offensive to God. When people celebrate the misfortune of others, it just shows their lack of compassion, lack of respect for life, and most importantly, lack of reverence for God. Those who know God, know celebrating anyone’s misfortune is wrong. These kinds of celebrations of evil includes many other forms as well. Anything that celebrates evil, anti-God behaviors is something people need to start to examine. They accomplish nothing but more hatred and dissension among its people.
6 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you clapped and danced and cheered with glee at the destruction of My people, 7 I will raise My fist of judgment against you. I will give you as plunder to many nations. I will cut you off from being a nation and destroy you completely. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 25:6-7
