One of the reasons I trust God is because He knows what He’s doing. He knows how to handle evil, while dealing with those who love and follow Him. In this example, we have Lot, a righteous man sickened by the evil of His day, being rescued by God in the midst of destroying an evil city. God knows how to run the world, I don’t. I trust Him with that responsibility. It’s a shame unbelievers don’t see this. They think they are in control, at least until their life gets out-of-control. When the world gets under your skin, and you are bothered by all the wickedness and evil going on around you, ask God to rescue you. He knows how to rescue those who are faithful to Him, while keeping the wicked under control. I trust Him with that, do you?
Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. 9 So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. 10 He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority.
