Selfishness is like a leech. It always wants more and is never satisfied. Yet we see it as a need wanting to satisfy it. It’s impossible. It’s fighting a losing battle. We need a heavy dose of humility to counteract our pride. When will we ever learn?
15 The leech has two suckers that cry out, “More, more!” There are three things that are never satisfied–no, four that never say, “Enough!”: 16 the grave, the barren womb, the thirsty desert, the blazing fire.
